A shame that it costs 2-3x the price of a starter set. The $20 price of the starter sets was more attractive, but the last starter set wasn't even worth that price (didn't even have 7 dice). $60 and some cards feels like they're swinging at Daggerheart.
I'm really curious how it carrot-and-sticks players into exploring. OD&D is a treasure hunting game, so XP is tied to loot. New players don't get that concept because 5E is a big slurry.
