#ITeachEnglish, could you help me with some feedback? I do a quick writing prompt with my classes where they have to pick one word to best capture the meaning/message/feeling of an image. Which of their words do you think is best in this #BestWordChallenge? forms.office.com/r/Qckexr0vAT

"The Wife's Story" by Ursula K. Le Guin isn't, but you're not supposed to know that going into it. #OopsSpoiler

A first for me today, two grade twelve students got me a cake on the last day of our course! #EduSky #TheKidsAreAlright

Before we go to #OneWord2025, I asked my students which #OneWord best represented the year that was, 2024. Your votes get to decide which was best! forms.office.com/r/rEr00s1xdX #EduSky #edchat #bestwordchallenge

Just realizing I could have cross-posted this to #EdTech as well.

#EduSky, l'm about to start my #Shakespeare unit with my 9s and get them to make memes to showcase their understanding of characters. I'm old school and use the imgflip meme generator. Are there any other apps or sites I could point them to that they'd be more familiar with or are more intuitive?

That is a good one! I can't stop coming up with them now. So fun to think about the association's we have with words and to put them into a potential collective noun. I was warming up my lunch in the room where our school's chess club was setting up and thought of a sacrifice of pawns!

I was inspired by @brianbilston.bsky.social's poem "An Invention of Collective Nouns" and asked my grade 12s to invent some of their own. Which one do you think is best? forms.office.com/pages/respon... And after you vote, what collective noun would you coin? #BestWordChallenge #EduSky #Writing

I teach highschool English currently, but also Math and Physics as well. I'm a bit of a paradox. β―οΈ What do you teach?

Perhaps, but I never left Twitter; it left me. It's what it has become since it's been rebranded as X that I left, and (maybe even more importantly) I can't resist a good pun.

Joining the mass Xodus, but will miss the teacher community I'd made there. How many of us have migrated to #Edusky?
