One of my favorite sayings for this kind of case is that even a broken clock is right twice a day. His support was surprising and welcome but against all else, it's hard to reconcile.

I don't require paid subscriptions, so my goals are different than others. This isn't to shame people bc there are very few platforms where people can monetize. But I use Medium + Buttondown (buttondown.com/LinaSrivastava) and it works for me.
When I launched my newsletter last year and was deciding on where to post my writing, I followed the advice from @anildash.com and @marisakabas.bsky.social on why not to use Substack. Beyond the fact that they platform hate speech, every time I hear news like this, I'm happy with the decision.
