Back in the day, when I did a ‘workplace culture metrics’ thing at Zappos, the key early-warning sign for everyone was ‘how well are you protecting and uplifting Black trans women?’ For many global workplaces, that ship has sailed/sunk.

DYK it now takes 3 separate sites and payments to get your kid re-registered for soccer with an FAI-affiliated team? And that one of those registrations is so complex they send a PDF to show you how to do it...but it still doesn't seem to understand kids/parents w/different surnames.

I'd always see her near Archway...I worked at Time Out (frankly, the best job in the world for a young person in the 1990s) and more often than not, we'd be on at the same time on my way to or from. It was so cool!
My colleague felt that my shoulders could use more puncture marks during my meeting. She’s happy enough with her own chair now, though.

Fun fact about one of my finds from the Drumcondra Book Skip - I had been looking for a copy of this after listening to the recent @backlisted.bsky.social ep & had no luck, and then there it was in the pile. It’s dried off now!
Oh, I fixed it. I worked at HP during Carly's reign of terror and none of the printers there ever worked without 'prompting,' despite that being their key product, so very much used to that sort of thing.
Went back today and the skip was gone, hope another comes as was rumoured. It was like a bookish street festival, got some excellent titles.

There was a not-dissimilar embarrassment with the Dublin Marathon medal, too, with the bogus Yeats quote…but I do quite like my Great North Run medal from last year, it was a nice one.
Another bonus of the Royal Canal Greenway being back open: I can see weird new (or new-to-me) graffiti around Croke Park.
And Martyn Green, of course! I used to go in and bug the special collections folk to see his papers and so on, long before I ended up in a similar role myself.

Her particular litter was all sorts of different colours - think she was the only pointed one. They were all adorable!

It’s all quite sad, was told the owner of the house died and his relatives couldn’t get anyone to take them (though also, not surprised as an ex-librarian). There are some real gems, even a few first editions, it’s well worth a look.
Apparently it will likely be going all week, with even more books being added.
There were so many books on book collecting and printing, too…much have been well-known at all the usual spots.
More of what I picked up…the Sylvia Townsend Warner and a few others were rather more damp, so are drying off elsewhere. The ‘Julius Caesar’ is a Ladybird book!

A friend of mine in the States made a documentary about his parent's transition from the POV of one of his nephews *25 years ago* - and it was all cheerful and positive, no one freaked out about anything.
That London, of course...not the best spot for cask, but more than we have here in Dublin!
I've been thinking along similar lines. The reliance on genAI vs other kinds of AI will mean absolute floods of junk content/data, and sifting through *that* to find the good stuff, even with automation, will need an understanding of structured content/data/etc...or it'll never get fixed.
