Agree, I've been thinking for a while the only solution is a national divorce. I know it'd be messy & have so many complicated issues, but how do you exist when the 2 sides of this country are diametrically opposed and one side is actually anti-facts, anti-science, and frankly anti-human rights.
The New Deal is one of, if not the most, progressive thing this country has ever done. It helped average Americans and was very popular, and still is with those who actually understand what it does.
The US has given Republicans, Corporate Dems, and now Facists a shot - and all it's gotten is declining quality of life for most Americans. It is far past time for Progressive to have their chance to show how government can work for it's citizens.
