If you haven't seen of this game or played it, Beastieball is by the devs of Wandersong and Chicory, and like those two games, is fantastic. It's a pastiche of Pokemon with a volleyball theme. The battle mechanics are actually REALLY good and engaging. I think I like it more than Pokemon.
Beat Beastieball today, then went and researched all Beasties and got the game's shiny charm equivelent, so I'm pretty much done I feel. Real good game though, super fun and pleasant. I really ended up loving my team by the end. They're all such good goobers

Watched Glass Onion tonight. I liked it! It was good. I liked Knives Out a lot more, though. Glass Onion is a good movie, well set up, very funny, and extremely cathartic, but Knives Out in a fantastic mystery. Glass Onion isn't a very good mystery. Though that's also the point, the theme of it all.

Quina is straight up the best "incindental, unimportant" side character in an RPG ever. In most JRPGs, the side character you get who has no relevance on the plot just sits quietly in your party. Quina does not do that. S/he is fuckin' around ALL over the place in cutscenes. S/he dodged a nuke.
Beat Final Fantasy 9 tonight. In the end? I think it's by far the most accessible FF game on the PS1. Prolly the best, in over all quality? But I think I liked FF8 more, it had higher highs and more interesting style/gameplay. But Vivi is a perfect character, and I'd die for Quina too tbh.

Having a poke around this one and it is CHARMING. Also weirder than I expected. It looks painterly and serious, but the protagonist, despite her stoic look, is just a huge weird goober. The translation (from Malay, I believe) is a bit rough and stiff, but most of the humor is situational so far.
