I genuinely hope you’re right, but I’m not as optimistic particularly if we can no longer assume that we will have free and fair election.
No one is ”longing“ for it but many of us recognize that we’ve missed most of the off-ramps for peaceful resolution and if we have to do it, best get it over with.

The whole point of protests is to draw attention and prompt more broad-based support to effect reform. There are protests but if the media chooses to ignore them or play them down then they lose their power as an agent of change. We’re going to have to think outside of the box. It’s not the 1960s.

I think very few people in the world have an appetite for war. On the other hand, there always comes a point when abuses become intolerable, and the political system has been captured to the extent that a meaningful redress of grievances becomes impossible.
