Oh that’s a pity. He makes some lovely architectural images- though does other genres too. You should come over to the dark side :)

If you’re in the UK on BBC4 right now and at 10pm are two episodes about Photographer Martin Parr 9pm- I Am Martin Parr 10pm - Martin Parr- Think of England - Modern Times Well worth watching or catching them on iPlayer #photographers

Do you follow Wilfried Puhlmann on Vero? i think you’d like his images.

Some amazing architectural photography. As ever, light is key.

Ooh nice. My top three are Concrete Memento, Colour Blocks and Ascension (in no order). Though I do like a bit of modernism with the petrol station too. Nice set there for sure.

At last a bit of positive news- I’ve finally got my Mum into a local nursing home. No more 1.5hr round trips after work to see her, and with the dark nights drawing in I’m very glad to not have to do those long winding country roads in the dark. Feels very odd without her here though.

There's a decent chance of seeing the aurora tonight - it may be visible as far south as the Midlands (perhaps even further south) 🌃

They are spectacular- and I definitely wouldn’t want to be on the receiving end of a kick 😀

Thanks Glen. A nice shapely leg (far better than a coots that’s for sure) 😂
Stephanie Graham (@logicaphotography.bsky.social) reply parent
I’ll probably get told off by someone for objectifying them or something 😁, or that it’s not nice to kill then for food- but as a vegetarian for over 30yrs I can categorically say no herons were/will be harmed in the making of this image💁🏼♀️

😆 poor guys. Nice to get a good view of those shapely pins.

The legs made me giggle. Alas, a good catch ruined by the modern park setting/horrjble background. Can’t have everything 😂

I mean, sometimes - yes. Sometimes they’re happy to let you watch them hunt.
Stephanie Graham (@logicaphotography.bsky.social) reply parent
Thanks Glen. Would have been rude not to take the shot as it was so close.

And if you're wondering whether someone getting killed is what it will take for the media and political class to come to their senses, I would just remind you that Jo Cox was murdered in a similar moment of demagoguery and hysteria 9 years ago, and if anything things have got far worse since then.

It’s GRACKLEPALOOZA time again! We have a few in the yard throughout the summer, but as migration approaches, they multiply! There are probably at least 100 here at times and it will increase! This male Common Grackle is almost done his moult and thinks he shouldn’t be named “common”! #Birds 🪶

Just watched The Eagle Huntress - it’s quite a remarkable film and what a remarkable girl (now woman).

The water levels of the Test are already too low. This would devastate our local wildlife www.itv.com/news/meridia...

They were really difficult weren’t they- but the other guy just sat in the open singing his heart out. This was as good as I got from the male who was with the female on the other side. Definitely some side-eye going on there .
Stephanie Graham (@logicaphotography.bsky.social) reply parent
Me in shorts would be enough to put anyone off photography for life, Alan 😂😂. Send them my way 🤣🤣
Stephanie Graham (@logicaphotography.bsky.social) reply parent
Maybe as winter approaches the -7°C and 4am starts will put them off a bit 😂
Stephanie Graham (@logicaphotography.bsky.social) reply parent
@lotaylor23.bsky.social I think this was one of the lucky shots on the more challenging side of the reserve
Stephanie Graham (@logicaphotography.bsky.social) reply parent
Climbing up a bank and on tiptoes if I remember correctly :) it was at least an easier catch than the male and female on the opposite side eh Lorraine. We nature lovers do like a challenge though.

Thanks Helen. Sometimes when I look at it, it reminds me of the type set in old fashioned books, like a letter D embellished with artwork. I’d need to find the other 25 letters to make a collection 😂

Banded Demoiselle on a water sedge, perched over an algae covered pond. I just love the effect the beautiful soft background gives to this amazing little insect predator. This image is still one of my favourites, so l thought l'd give it a reshare. #ukwildlife #insect #demoiselles

Thanks Den 🙏🏻. Yeah too early and I can’t find them, too late and they’re all supercharged and zipping around everywhere.
Stephanie Graham (@logicaphotography.bsky.social) reply parent
Still a lovely shot Dave. I hate the atmospherics at this time of year so am mostly just not shooting anything at any distance. Heat haze messed up all my bittern flight shots last year 😤
Stephanie Graham (@logicaphotography.bsky.social) reply parent
Thanks Den. I foolishly chose to look for them at the worst time of day- it was so hot. They were all chilled while I was a sweaty mess 😂
Stephanie Graham (@logicaphotography.bsky.social) reply parent
Thanks. I pushed it up a bit after that.

The Sony a7RV does humans, animals, birds, insects, and vehicles. It comes at the cost of fps but it does ok for me in most circumstances
Stephanie Graham (@logicaphotography.bsky.social) reply parent
I never had a dslr but from what I understand the evfs in the mirrorless cameras really help.
Stephanie Graham (@logicaphotography.bsky.social) reply parent
Yeah that’s where some of the new mirrorless bodies really shine, especially with the advanced AF. Mine has insect AF which certainly helps to get the eye sharp. Still need to work on the panning techniques of course.
Stephanie Graham (@logicaphotography.bsky.social) reply parent
That’s a great way to get them. This one was flying almost in a figure of eight around the side of a lake patrolling its territory, I got lucky a few times as it flew almost parallel to me.

Cedar Waxwings are named after the little waxy red tips, called astaxanthin, on their secondary feathers. This Cedar Waxwing was pulling off some fancy aerial manoeuvres while hunting bugs, and showed off these tiny red tips! The astaxanthin are now thought to be involved with social status.
