Research doesn't necessarily mean coming up with a cure. If the research shows that we inherit something from our grandma, then we've learned something, but we can't go back and cure grandma. If we learn that exercise doesn't help heart health, we may change our obsession with exercise.

Cuts in services, yes, but there are mandated services. You can't just cut 1/3 of meals. If a NH has, say, 50% on Medicaid, that could mean nearly 50% of the income is gone. Local NH here has a hard time keeping staff due to Medicaid being the foundation of their income, so hard to offer raises.
Churches aren't all the same. There are Christian nationalists who apparently worship (?) our country, and others which follow the teachings of Jesus who said to serve others, feed others, cloth others. Singing praise music is only, at best, a start. It is not serving and sacrificing.

My husband sometimes did physical exams for people needing some documentation for disability. He stated that these were tricky because the question might be: Can Tom do xyz? Yes or no? Well yes, Tom could do xyz, but not for 4 hours and for sure not for 8 hours.

You may say that charges are really high. They are. But insurance payments discount the charges quite a bit. So if the clinic or nursing home has a high percentage of patients who have Medicaid, that institution will not be able to stay "healthy."
Lawmakers don't understand that Medicaid payments for medical care isn't money for the patients only. It is money, ie financial support, payments, to the clinics and hospitals and nursing homes which give the care. How do they survive without income to cover their costs?
We should be investing in rural communities and making them better places to build a life & raise a family - not shutting down rural hospitals by choking off their funding. Saving rural hospitals is one more reason to call your Representative and speak out against this GOP attempt to cut Medicaid.

The "natural foods stores" used to carry mostly food and bulk food. Now they are filled with boxes and jars of supplements and processed herbs with very mushy statements on the outside about the "benefits" because they are unregulated.
We live where we have well water. So our kids got fluoride pills. My husband is a family physician. I'm not sure how many other family docs and pediatricians ask their patients about their water source. If you don't drink municipal water but give your kids pop, you undo fluoride benefit.
Why would anyone think its a good idea to have pain when a cavity exposes a nerve..or cavities &lost teeth interfering with rating/drinking. And oh yeah..the minor problem w/harboring an on going infection in your mouth that can travel to other parts of your body, favorite place being the heart.
