The marriage penalty is a bit severe, we can tweak that too. But I’m talking about putting it at something like the orig exemption amount adj for inflation. So you’d be exempt at “combined income” of ~$75k for single or ~$100k for married. Then index that for inflation going forward.
Taxing SS benefits is good, but they should increase the amount of “combined income” before the tax kicks in. The problem is they never adjusted the exemption amount for inflation.

Time spent learning can take time from other things or people - which certainly could be a cause of regret. This is absolutely no danger for me, of course, but I can imagine someone who is really diligent about learning.
