The original wording around Exertion in A Dungeon Game always tripped people up and they struggled to understand it until they just sat down and used it, at which point it becomes very intuitive

If there's one thing I know will derail my training (because it's done it every other time I've tried to train for a specific race) it's doing too much too soon. ADHD impulsiveness impacts everything.
I was very well behaved today, I set out to do three laps of the route and told myself that no matter how good I felt at the end I wasn't going to push to a half marathon and risk overextending myself again, and I actually did it. Going home feeling like I could have run more and that was the goal.
A fantastic way to get me to go for a run is to tell me I'll get a massive dragon head medal at the end of it

Originally it was AD&D 2e and then 3.x. I used to write adventures and make monsters and submit them to Dragon/Dungeon magazines with no success. As an adult 5e brought me back to games, and then @epidiah.bsky.social's Dread and @lackingceremony.bsky.social's The Quiet Year got me away from D&D

Honestly super straightforward: whatever oaky bourbon you have, a couple of bar spoons of vanilla simple syrup (I use two, I like a sweet Old Fashioned), and a few dashes of cocoa bitters to taste. Stir, strain over ice, add some orange essence if you have one to hand
