Slept 6ish hours and now I'm up for the day I guess? Hoping to get a nap in before my mom's surprise party. I'm going to need the patience and grace to deal with being misgendered by people who haven't seen me in years. By which I mean politely correct them repeatedly instead of fighting them.

Will be live in about 10 minutes with some art! Had to call my mom to wish her a happy birthday and that turned into a 30 minute life update (as it does; no complaint, just a bit unexpected).
I have not received any help. My mother died. I am disabled, LGBTQ in a state that revoked my civil rights so, no, I cannot get a loan ... funeral expenses, medical expenses, therapy needs. Everyone said they would help those of us targeted but most of us are drowning with nothing.
Do I dare attempt another challenge... I might save the list and pallets to do over the course of the remaining year instead as warm-up practice?
I wanted to try something different with the figure drawing videos. I thought that it would be helpful to see me getting into every pose instead of just photos. The downside is that the image quality is not that good right now. But I will try to change that. www.patreon.com/posts/figure...

The hard part about 'West Marches' is the high level of bookeeping that can occur. A lot of GMs love to dive into the math crunch - but I don't. I hate it. That's why I made this free resource with some of the tools I use in Teldramir. I call it a resource for 'Open Play'. Use whatever you want.

I was born half blind. I had orientation teachers and assistive tools throughout grade school until high school where they just kind of released me into the wild, so to speak. Which was mostly fine but falls are riskier as I age, so. 3/3
I am so reluctant about the white cane, not because I don't want it to be apparent that I'm partially blind (though I am worried about possible harassment from the public), but because self advocating and honestly doing anything to help myself is a real struggle. 2/3
Three weeks post second fall due to unnoticed elevation changes and I have finally done two things: 1 - made an appointment with my doctor to discuss my meds in case they might be contributing 2 - Contacted CNIB about the possibility of getting a white mobility cane. 1/3

Especially if you're told to switch gears or find a different thing to do. Or if you thought you were 'talented' but now improving takes a lot more effort so giving up seems like the only option. I promise you AI will not fix any of that. It'll just make things worse for everyone. 5/5
As someone who stopped creating for a long time because I was frustrated with it getting 'hard' and not having the time to devote to it, I can understand why some are tempted by AI. And it can be incredibly frustrating to not have what seems like talent for something you want to do. 4/5
A result that, while perhaps easily monetized, doesn't really carry the same joy or humanity in it. It's just a part of pointless consumerism at that point. This is of course not touching on the ethical points (climate impact and blatant theft, to start). Which honestly should stop folks. 3/5
AI takes the process out of creative endeavors when the process is a huge part of why humans do art. Yeah the finished piece is nice, but doing and improving a skill is so rewarding. It's frustrating, sure. Heartbreaking at times. But when you remove the process, what's left? 2/5
I have always hated statements like 'you're so talented/smart/anything that actually requires effort to develop'. I like to say instead that I found joy and comfort in art and writing which encouraged me to keep working on it. Which is part of the frustration I have with AI. 1/5

Had to get up way earlier than I wanted because one of the cats knocked down my drawing tablet because my spouse did not feed them. Going to make sure the tablet still works after breakfast. I'm not super worried because that thing has survived many moves and is 17~ years old.

To cover my tablet I use the fabric map that came with the giant D20 popcorn bucket from the more recent DnD movie. It's got the texture of a glasses cleaning cloth, so I think something with that texture would be fine.
Had to end stream earlier because my eyes were not handing the computer screen well. They're feeling better after some rest, though. Maybe I'll try a co-working stream tomorrow to make up for it.

I can't say that I'm good at picking my battles but I am stubborn. Honestly though I have some education/background in traditional art so I'm applying a lot of that and just learning how digital tools work.
It's going to be my point redeem on twitch for hydrate! I may have put more time into this than needed but I am learning ahah Though it could easily work as an emote or sticker too so this might end up being put on ko-fi at some point for that purpose.

Posting some of the stuff I've actually finished recently! Emote for stream is done, and I've been able to make the channel points icon and a reward icon as well. Watermarked, unfortunately. First, the emote. I had to crop it to just the head to work as an emote.
That's a lot of unfinished quests so I'm moving them all to this week I guess! I did make progress, though, even on the cards, but some of that progress was made yesterday. Also, I know it's Wednesday so instead of a new quest list I'll make a to-do list later on.

Going to the library fucking rules. You can walk in and pick your favorite things and then walk right out without paying anything. It's unbelievable and 100% the kind of thing that won't exist in the future unless you recognize the goodness now before it's too late
I feel weirdly accomplished. Finished an emote, some reward icons, started a new one. I feel like I could reasonably make some generic emote packs that wouldn't take too long to put together and put them up somewhere for purchase. Whenever I get the chance anyway.
