Maybe we can find common ground with a fascist?

Any democrat who thinks they can still find common ground with an openly fascist party has no business being in office.

COVID was Dems' fault because they acknowledged it. Any societal disruption could've been avoided if only we pretended. First time US media and voting public didn't hold the president responsible for a bad thing on his watch. Even as he messed it up on live TV. Nothing I can think of comes close.

Not a very long path from "Why wouldn't you want the regime to deploy federal troops in your city when it reduces carjackings?" to "Why would you be opposed to the erection of internment camps for deviants when it reduces crime?" And a good chunk of mainstream media will just follow along.

Raddatz asks how anyone could object to the National Guard in DC because carjackings are down 87%. Brilliant. If they hermetically sealed all DC residents inside their homes, they could get that stat down to nothing at all. Should we do that, Martha?

not just that he has no constitutional authority, there isn't even any particular legal or institutional mechanism by which the president can make anyone treat this as anything other than a weird advisory opinion.

The extent to which ICE is ignoring all civil rights and due process is astounding — and indicative of a culture where they’ve been told they can do literally no wrong. Agency and admin leaders must face sanctions and legal consequences.

We tried parroting Russian propaganda and telling Ukraine to bow down. We tried denigrating European allies and refusing to discuss real security guarantees. We tried rolling out the red carpet for Putin and saying we deserved a Nobel Prize for that. Now we’re “seriously considering stepping back.”
