Wow! So while I still wish this case would’ve gone to trial, and believe the amount given per work should have been EVEN higher, $1.5 billion in settlement AND the destruction of infringing datasets is still a fantastic start! Congratulations to all those involved as these things are not easy!

We need to have more empathy and support for our fellow Americans in red states where the GOP and their cult are actually not as big a population, but have more voting and political opportunity.
Trump and his Administration would LOVE for people to write off red states as hopeless. Because that means there will be less push back in those red states with little support from states that are blue. Basically, it keeps those GOP in power.
It means lower voter turnout, and Trump and the GOP want this EVERYWHERE by pushing to eliminate mail-in voting. They will deny millions of Americans the right to have their vote counted, while GOP supporters will probably be granted early voting.
Imagine not being able to get to your job or pick up your kids from school or wonder if You can trust the person behind you to hold your place in line because you need to go use the restroom.
The more affluent areas that tend to vote red will have some of the best services available. The areas that lean more on blue will find long voting lines at ONE facility, and likely have to miss work or plan out the whole day just to get their vote in.
Many red states are Run by GOP who have manipulated districting and political accountability, as well as voter outreach, to keep their states red. There are people being denied the opportunity to vote through lack of proper voting facilities, or not ENOUGH voting faculties.
I really, REALLY wish people would internalize the absolute stranglehold voter suppression and gerrymandering have over many red states with high BIPOC populations (who reliably vote blue) before consistently writing off these entire states and saying shit like “they deserved it”.
The oligarchs really have no idea the level of the backlash that's coming to things like this. It might rival the French revolution.
