There’s no need to wonder why nations seek to flatter Trump. He’s a simpleton, a fool, a thin-skinned buffoon capable of understanding nothing beyond his own id. Around the world, leaders mock him for the ease with which they sway him. And they bemoan—or worse, celebrate—a leaderless United States.
And those who seek flattery and validation are insecure and juvenile.

PBS News is doing more to expose the facts than the FBI… 📌 Many young extremists who grew up on social media and never knew life without school shootings now see public violence as a way to go viral. So the chaotic confusion we are seeing right now is possibly by design.
Saw this enlightening piece last night and it explains much to us older folks.
What we are witnessing is an outright abuse of power. This administration is attacking critics and using fear as a weapon to silence anyone who would speak out. Media corporations — from television networks to newspapers — are capitulating to these threats.

I know it's frustrating when lawyers point out when something the administration is doing is not legal. But responding with "the law doesn't matter anymore" is really unhelpful and defeatist. Clarifying the law is important because it reminds us not to comply in advance and to resist and take action

Very sad this morning. Robert Redford has died. He had moved to Santa Fe in his later years, and whenever I was there, I thought of his love for New Mexico and, among other things, his direction and production of the wonderful movie Milagro Beanfield War set on the "High Road to Taos."
I relate and love this film based on the John Nichols book and know a few of the loosely based characters in the Taos, NM area. It's a magical account.
