Pet hate of mine is that as engines have become more efficient, manufacturers have compensated by designing less efficient vehicles to fit them into. So instead of a less polluting 'national fleet', we have roads full of bloated vehicles. The only beneficiaries are the fossil fuel pushers.

Sadly I suspect there are still brand new car parks being created based on the width of 1970s cars. It makes them super-inconvienent, because it's a struggle to get in and out of vehicles and there's a risk of damage.

Most parking spaces are dimensioned based on the cars of yesteryear - which were far narrower than today's cars. I can only think of one car park that has bothered to redefine all its spaces to reflect this. It's reduced the overall capacity, but it's a much easier, safer place to use as a result.
