I'm slowly transitioning out of being primarily a commercial and studio photographer so whenever I happen upon a scene I want to capture I have to remind myself light changes, clouds move, nature is alive by definition. It's oddly hard to change my mindset to both slow down and enjoy + get the shot
I aspire to that level of forethought in situations like that, as opposed to my utter panic and hope.

Really appreciate the resources, thank you! I pride myself in my ability to scout areas online but there's nothing like (safely) getting lost and discovering some surprises. I most certainly have my work cut out for me in massive area.
I did a lot of driving around out there today, just location scouting after Beacon Rock, and I was shocked at how much there was to see. Tons of trailheads, lots of beautiful backroads to explore, I just was not expecting that. I will 100% be back after some online exploration.
