The Clink Charity provides a route to rehabilitation while in prison & their work is cutting reoffending rates by 64%. It's vital their work is able to continue & I'm pleased the Minister agreed, committing to reviewing barriers to the charity's future operations.

Good to sit down with Housing Minister Matthew Pennycook and discuss a range of issues, including leasehold changes, accessible home standards & how the @churchofengland.org can support the govt's mission to deliver new homes.
Marsha de Cordova (@marshadecordova.bsky.social)
'This deadly escalation is futile and must stop' It is morally right that the @archbishopofyork.org & Church leaders have spoken out against the horrific situation in #Gaza. Now is the time for full accountability for Israel & action from leaders across societies.

A UK-EU youth experience scheme would break down barriers to new opportunities & our country would reap the economic reward as a result. With the now added importance of ensuring the SPS deal gets over the line, a youth experience scheme is more vital than ever. www.thetimes.com/uk/politics/...

Time & time again, constituents tell me that floating bus stops are causing injuries & dangerous travel experiences. Not being able to travel independently affects every aspect of your life - from going to work to socialising with friends. We must ensure that everyone can use public transport.

London has always been a vibrant, diverse & welcoming city - and that isn't changing. I'm proud to be a Londoner, to represent #Battersea, & I'm proud to join @london.gov.uk in defending our tolerant & democratic values from the extreme politics of hate.

🏘 🏗 The Govt's bold & ambitious plan for housing will ensure that more people have a safe, affordable & secure place to live. We must, however, make sure these homes are accessible so that everyone has the chance to benefit. My question 👇

Marsha de Cordova (@marshadecordova.bsky.social) reply parent
While the Met will be re-focusing on video appointment provision, this cannot replace face to face interactions particularly when we still need assurances that these tools will be accessible to all members of the public.
Marsha de Cordova (@marshadecordova.bsky.social) reply parent
It is simply not right that at a time when our police need more resources to tackle serious crimes, that support is being taken away.
Marsha de Cordova (@marshadecordova.bsky.social) reply parent
Without this, Battersea residents will feel less safe. Just recently, the Met Commissioner for London gave a stark warning that further cuts may mean ‘some crimes must be ignored.’
Marsha de Cordova (@marshadecordova.bsky.social) reply parent
residents will be without a single public access point for local police. This is unacceptable. Front counters provide a stable presence and allow the public to report a crime in person, giving people trust and confidence that the police will be there when they need them.
