The most egregiously self-sustaining lie the system tells us is that change to the system should be slow, incremental, and made from within the system itself. It wants us to devote years to fighting for a few extra crumbs that, as they've shown over and over, they can take back whenever they like.

I think we're on different angles. I want the system to change to better fit the people, not change the people. It's my belief that the middle are good people who mostly agree on the same principles re: human dignity and autonomy, but are coerced into accepting injustice by design of the system
As stated previously, I don't think moderates are fascists. I think they're mostly good people. The fascists are the ones pulling the middle ever closer to the right, and they're the ones we're fighting. We don't want to lead the middle, this isn't about gathering followers. It's that fear of the status quo being upended that has allowed the far right to dig their claws in and build that right tilt. So we need the moderates to stop fighting for the middle and choose. And I believe the good in their hearts will correct that tilt.
Good, then think about it in context of what you've seen in your life. About the inertia of the past 60 years, the pendulum swing that has slowly but surely tilted to the right and led us exactly to this moment. The moderates are good at heart, I truly believe so, but they are scared of disruption.
