People like him think the left is 5% and 60-70% are normal people who could vote for democrats. The left is 20-30%, and probably around half of people who would vote for democrats. Ignoring them is exactly how they lose.
So the article I wrote this week goes into the details of the Chorus controversy, and how the back and forth between the center left and the left can possibly be productive going forward. The left is justified in their suspicion, but Chorus and their supporters also have a right to be frustrated.

I've seen BTC's and Packmans video, it's possible the contracts are worded for extreme cases, not enforced regularly. They say in the first meeting they're told that they aren't being told what to say. I think it's a combo of missteps on their part and general distrust caused by dems and dark money.
If they hadn't made it a secret and tried to control who they talked to or supported, then it might have been a good thing. If it were more "we're supporting dem influencers to help them," it's less of a problem than "don't tell people we're paying you, and don't support people who are too radical."
Almost everytime I see someone defending Newsome calling any criticism of him as a purity test, 9/10 times their account has a bunch of posts complaining about "transgenderism" or wokeness.

I've been sitting here thinking a bit about what it means to revolve ones identity around "making sure democrats win". I want good people to be in power. And there seems to be an unspoken assumption that means supporting the democrats as a party.
I think one of their biggest mistakes is treating leftist criticism the same as far-right criticism. Almost every instance that they complain about from leftist criticism has a nugget of useful truth in it; they are just blinded by their biases.
Cis people: This is where you fucking step up. Do everything you can to support trans people in the coming days. You're going to hear horrible, hurtful rhetoric about us. Shut it down. Don't let it stand. And buy the trans people in your life a drink.
One of the problems with these types of debates is when one side has been shown to repeatedly lie and manipulate information for their own purposes. When one side isn't arguing in good faith, it's hard to justify debating them.
Same with the word "identify." The way they use it, you could describe literally everything in existance as somethat we "identify." We "identify" everything that we know exists.

The reason why thats decreased over the years is because the Democrats are too afraid to counter the Republicans propaganda on trans people. If the Democrats fight and show the harm these policies cause, we can reverse that change. And also, Dems aren't 1 issue voters for trans people in sports.
"More people" are weighted by 70-90% of Republicans, almost all of which will never vote for a Democrat. Independants don't care that much for it to influence their vote, and the Democratic base support trans rights. Any politician who renegs on trans rights are chasing votes they'll never get.
I do wish people would treat transphobia as the serious red flag it is, because if someone is repeating bullshit pseudoscience talking points from right wing cranks, that's just as bad as conceding to anti-vax nonsense and undermining trust in science and medicine, alarm bells should be sounding!

Most progressives don't have strict purity tests. They just know there are enough people on the left who won't throw trans people under the bus just to get what they want that the politicians who do won't win. You can't say you care about trans rights if you're willing to sacrifice them to win.

Pundits also use the average person as a shield for any criticism. Many times they're being insulted because they are pundits whose job it is to say things and are bad at their job, whereas regular people don't have the background to actually know things about the subject, or any power or influence.
They stop seeing others as real.
People should never forget that this guy said the quiet part out loud. That workers need to hurt to remind them their place.
They also don't know how math works. Any data that shows more than 50% of Americans disagree on a trans issue, it's weighted by 80%-90% Republicans who will never vote for them anyway. Democrats broadly support trans rights, and independents usually don't care either way.

I need Democratic online types to understand that because of this, Newsom is dead to me. Dead. I'd sooner vote for an actual corpse. I am sick of centrists constantly saying that the problem is the language people who go to college use. Since the 70's, Republicans have demonized college campuses as the enemy of the working class, because they benefit from pitting people with college degrees and those without against each other.

Democrats won't win by calling the trans community not normal. People who care about those things are heavily weighted on the right, people who will never vote for Democrats. I watched his interview with Pod Save America, he gave complete generic answers and pretty much never gave any specific policies, so I wrote about every generic answer he gave, for those who don't want to spend the 50 minutes watching it.

And to be clear, it didn’t have to guess, I told it three clear instructions, it just only listened to one of them, and what it claimed it guessed was because it just didn’t remember two of the instructions. It was basically insulting me for its own inadequacies.
It used to be good at reformating things (GPT-3 and earlier). I tried recently, it asked repetitive questions and forgot things. At one point it reformatted something poorly, and when I told it it was wrong, it said it was wrong because of me, it wouldn't be wrong if it didn't have to guess.
But when they do, the guys who made windows be their girlfriend will riot in the streets. It will be mayhem.
