The people who say it doesn't work, it plagiarizes, or it destroys the environment all tend to be people who have no idea how it actually works and are just repeating what they've heard from others online. Those who work with AI tools directly, shocker, tend to have a better understanding of it.

Maybe you should get over it, for your own mental health. ChatGPT is the fifth most visited website on the planet. VFX companies are incorporating AI tools into their workflow. Indie artists are having a boom right now doing work they didn't have the resources to do before. AI ain't going anywhere.

I've written for decades and have six published books on Amazon and podcasts of hundreds of episodes full of audio editing and mixing. I have a hell of a portfolio built up over years. Why do you think it's all negated because I use a few AI tools now?
Yeah, you definitely speak for me and know my experiences so well, lol. I gotta tell you, it was so frustrating beforehand. It felt like Google and I spoke different languages. These AI search tools bridge the gap. I get far more information than ever before.

I struggled with Google searching for the longest time. It seemed like whatever I wanted to find, Google couldn't quite interpret exactly what it was I was asking for and would lead me to pages that were often the complete opposite or only marginally related. For me, AI search tools are a godsend.
There is no one more hateful and violent than people who are convinced that, no matter what, they are on the good side.

And of course, blocked. No attempt at nuance or discussion, just pure irrational fear. I wish the people so terrified of AI realize that the more you try and fight it, the more miserable you'll be. AI is not going anywhere. Either learn to work with it and realize its value, or sulk alone.
I love when people doubt James Cameron regarding VFX and think they're at all on the right side of history. Cameron is 100% right, as usual. The people saying "but what about the jobs?!" are saying the same thing said with every new invention. It will cost jobs, but also create jobs. As always.
Once more, as always, Cameron is way ahead of his time regarding visual effects and certain people hate him for it.

In today's divided world, I think no movie has a more important message than Raya and the Last Dragon. It's not "blindly trust everyone," it's "end the cycle of distrust." When everyone assumes betrayal, the cycle perpetuates. Someone must take the first step, no matter the risk, or it'll never end.

I think looking at art from an artist's perspective is far more fulfilling than a critic's. Like, people who hate Michael Bay like critics might not realize this, but fellow filmmakers like Spielberg, Nolan, Cameron, and Tarantino? They all LOVE Bay's work, because they appreciate his craft.
I vibed with Quantumania's sci-fi B-movie vibes rather than expecting just another Ant-Man movie or an Infinity War style cliffhanger. I also vibed with Dominion's globe-trotting Crichton-esque biothriller, rather than assuming it would be all "dinos stomping in cities" like others wanted.
I think the reason I'm more lenient toward films like Quantumania and Jurassic World Dominion is because I'm less "why isn't this movie doing what I personally wanted" and more "what is this movie TRYING to do?" I look at them from a fellow artist's perspective than a critics or audience member's.

I don't hate criticism. I love criticism. I'm an artist; I love dissecting other works' themes and values. My issue is when the art of criticism is commercialized. Like usual, capitalism ruins everything.
I will never agree with criticism as a profession because it encourages an environment where the effects, both positive and negative, are unidirectional. An artist attacks a critic, and they're called weak or insecure. A critic attacks an artist, and they're just doing their job.
This applies to both of them.
It's funny how people can look at others saying that current media sucks and old media is better from every era, in every medium, in every time throughout history... and still think that current media is genuinely the problem, rather than the nostalgic bias we all share.
