I don't walk this path where there's a lot of chestnut trees, but this pic popped up on my FB timeline,from 12 years ago. It's right across the street from the Villa Maria convent where the the nun population is dwindling & even the prayers have turned into a dull murmur. Hail Mary full of grace..
I saw Winwood in Buffalo in the early 70's when he was with Traffic...Cat Stevens was the opening act...we never heard of him...but we learned fast...great concert
I have great thoughts like great sunrises. you know how that goes, by the time I pull my cell phone out of my back pocket and press the shutter button, a cloud passes over and it's a new day. and really, that's only one day of many, trying to reach forever. I can't even write about it effectively...

this article annoyed me for many reasons. It reminded of the kids in HS that (circa 60's) who thought it was ot was ok to tell Polak jokes because they were Polish. Some were funny, some in poor taste, but mostly demeaning & insulting. But seriously, not worthy of front page print. fuck the news.

While reading this interview I realized it was written over 30 years ago...and then I thought, what's time to a plot...anyway, it was a fun read.
when Sam visits, my daughter is on vacation or is having visitors. Sam is unpredictable & seldom relaxes. He keeps me on my toes when we're outside for a walk. I don't trust him with animals & people he doesn't know. I keep him on a short leash, but give him more walks & treats than he gets at home.

I snapped this pic of a Polish gentleman in the Summer of '72. More than likely shot with my Canon camera using a 135mm lens and 400 ASA b & w film. At that time my brother Al was experimenting with Kodalith film and came up with this idea. I forgot about it, until I saw it in a box at sister Sue's.

yesterday preparing a few words to say at my sister's cemetery service, this folded piece of scrap paper fell out of my journal. Sue was cremated. I once joked about bad tattoos, don't worry about them if you're going to be cremated. My sister Sue had no tattoos. You can burn this entry if you wish.

I like Iga...she's solid. and often she's misunderstood. I find that humorous. as a kid, I played a lot of sports and sometimes my mom would grab me by the arm and say, solid baby...solid. that would make me feel good. there's so many ways to be solid in life, some of the things I had to learn.
my son just handed me this tee shirt and what a nice pleasant surprise. all my grandparents were born in Poland and growing up the men in the family would root for Polish-American players...Musial, Kluszewski,Skowron etc.and the teams they played on. right now on TV, Stanek just got spanked by a HR

I could tell you what book came in the mail or what I had for lunch but that may not interest you. But I did toast the rye bread and put lots of whipped butter on it so that it oozed through the holes and dripped on my chin. As for the woman, she never got the acclaim she deserved. & that roils me.

My father had a '65 Dodge Dart that I hit a telephone pole with on icy conditions while on leave to go to vietnam in Jan. 68. My father was pissed and my brother-in-law rented me a '68 Mustang for the rest of my leave. My father said to me, you don't need a car, you need a jeep in the desert. Ha!
