#FlashbackFriday A year ago I played with exposures to see if the switch to LED lights in Ōtepoti Dunedin had made it more possible to see the Milky Way above the city lights... A bit of exposure tomfuckery & sure enough, in August our galaxy appears horizontal & low to the horizon.

I believe they are ring-billed gulls. I took this photograph on the shore of Lake Erie last winter. A couple hundred of them were huddled together on the snow.
