The police at the Capital had guns and the situation would have prevented them from being used regardless of race. The only time you saw them was when members of Congress were present. Their first responsibility is to protect those members.
Melissa (@melsbully.bsky.social) reply parent
I can agree with you that they wouldn’t have been pardoned. Officer Falone would have been justified in using his gun when he was being attacked and tased, but he didn’t. A shot fired would have only escalated the situation. That goes for pretty much any type of attack of that multitude regardless

Melissa (@melsbully.bsky.social) reply parent
But the man in the White House isn’t the cop in front of you. Look how Republicans treated the Capitol Police after the insurrection. No thank you’s. Didn’t like the plaque that acknowledged their bravery or service that day. Those police were of all races and ethnic backgrounds. People weren’t shot

But that just perpetuates the division between the races. Angela Davis was found not guilty of murder by an all white jury. A jury of 11 whites in the south convicted the men of murdering Ahmaud Arbery. So many were so sure that the south is still as racist as it was 50 yrs ago. We need to see

I don’t see Trump as being into having sex with minors. He’s pervy and doesn’t respect women but all the women who reported sexual assault were adult women. We also know that women in the porn industry aren’t off limits.

They pushed the narrative that Democrats were the pedophiles. Some may be but far more Republicans are getting arrested for various crimes or unprofessional conduct. Looking at you Boebert, Gaetz, and whatever his name is. George Santos? And they elected a convicted felon for president.

If the MAGA base is 30-35% of registered Republicans, the ride or die base is maybe 10-15% of that. More and more people are opening their eyes and saying they didn’t vote for this. Terrorizing people and communities. Putting our national security and our health at risk? A volatile economy? Nope

I also don’t lump all wealthy people and call them fascists. Money can buy them influence, but not all influence is politically motivated. Musk, Thiel, and Bannon would like to burn it all down. Privatize government agencies so they can make a profit. I don’t think enough of the population would

I don’t need a degree to know what the law states. There are requirements for an arrest and requirements to go to trial. Both require a certain amount of evidence. A name alone is not enough. A video tape would help as well as any witnesses who would testify. What blatant evidence is there that

What evidence is there that newspaper owners are on that list? Looks like a case of baseless accusations and spreading misinformation and you hold yourselves up to a higher standard than they are. Maybe you are failing your fellow citizens with a National Enquirer approach to reporting

You could look at the positive angle. They credited her and would her song have ended up being unknown if not for them. Blues was very much influential at the time in Great Britain. John Williams is very well known for his music in the movies. He also stole from deceased classical composers.

Trump is a businessman. When you go to the bank you show a business plan to the lender to get the loan you need. He had no plan. At first he thought he’d build one continuous wall from California to Texas. That wasn’t needed. Then he kept changing how high it would be and what it would be made of
Melissa (@melsbully.bsky.social) reply parent
His own party, what was the Republican Party didn’t fully fund the wall in his first term. When Schumer and Pelosi went to the WH and told Trump the wall wouldn’t be fully funded in the upcoming budget that’s when Trump shut down the government. The longest shutdown in history

You think is not a fact or evidence. You are doing more harm than help. Everything so far has been negative or based on misinformation. Maybe you are here to dissuade people from voting for Democrats and are only pretending to be one. A logical assumption on my part
Melissa (@melsbully.bsky.social) reply parent
Then tell me what meeting the moment is and the way they can do it. I see plenty of the complaints come from people who don’t understand how laws are passed, aren’t on the same page on how to go about it, and forget that there’s another party in power who is silent and resign before objecting
Melissa (@melsbully.bsky.social) reply parent
Those cuts were made by the Republican majority alone. They didn’t need a single Democrat vote. They own that bill alone and didn’t get a single Democrat vote. We have voted with Republicans to get the government from shutting down. But maybe not this time in September

Because they had standing and they won through the courts. You don’t think the Native Americans had financial help from outside sources? If you are going to make these arguments, you might want to fact check yourself first. You are being misinformed and maybe by right wing sources.

That is a lie and you know it. The only seat that got enough bipartisan votes was Rubio’s. Not one Dem voted for Hegseth, Gabbard, Kennedy, or Patel. I’m sure there were others. There are 53 Senate Republicans and it only takes 50 for confirmation. A Dem vote didn’t matter either way
Melissa (@melsbully.bsky.social) reply parent
I agree with that but part of it depends on having enough of the majority vote. How do you convince people to vote with us when all they hear is criticism of the party? I don’t hear positive comments or even a consensus of what our priorities are. We have to show that we are a better alternative
Melissa (@melsbully.bsky.social) reply parent
They pushed to oust Hegseth twice. Pushed to release the Epstein files. Now pushing for RFK Jr to resign. Schumer is blocking senate confirmations of Trump appointees. We just got tariffs blocked and some deportations blocked. Alcatraz is shutdown. Only Republican voters have the power to pushback

I live in NC, a state that voted for Trump but we also have a Dem governor, Lt Governor, AG, and held on to the state Supreme Court. We don’t have the majority in the state legislature and they redrew the map before the 2020 election to give themselves the advantage and it worked.

And what would that be? Everyone wants to see the party fight harder, but when they are asked what that means, they can’t answer. The only real power they have is the courts and convincing more people that the party offers real solutions other than just pointing out what Trump is doing wrong
