Miami Heat forward Haywood Highsmith had successful surgery this morning to repair a meniscal tear in his right knee, which he suffered while training in Baltimore. He will begin rehabilitation immediately and is expected to miss 8-10 weeks.

As mentioned yesterday, Shake Milton and Jordan Goodwin were cut candidates to monitor due to their non-guaranteed contracts with Marcus Smart expected join the Lakers. Today, both Milton and Goodwin were waived to create the financial flexibility for the Lakers to sign Smart.
The Memphis Grizzlies waived Zyon Pullin. PJ Hall and No. 48 pick Javon Small are now both on two-way contracts for the Grizzlies. Memphis has one open two-way spot remaining.

Sources: The Indiana Pacers included injury protection clauses on the last two years of Isaiah Jackson’s three-year, $21 million deal in case he suffers a significant right Achilles injury preventing him from meeting certain games played thresholds. The deal descends each year.
