I’m very pro-education, but this thread is correct. Many Trump voters got civic education in school, probably better than today’s. The issue is not lack of understanding, where if someone just explained how US Constitutional democracy works, they’d support. They reject it, and chose to tear it down.

On a kind of similar, more normative ‘big picture’ ideal overview: you are a citizen. You are not a subject or serf. You are also not a consumer or customer. You are a citizen. That comes with meaningful obligations to you, and meaningful obligations from you.
I do think it says something that whenever we ask ourselves questions like this, we get a jumble of 500 policies. What are the unifying concepts that explain why that agenda is cohesive and desirable? That tells us how and why to prioritize certain goals at certain times? That's what the right has.
Two things on responses like this: 1) This is a list of policies that Democratic politicos — Miller equivalents — don't agree on 2) A policy checklist, desirable as it might be, isn't an actual *vision for American society* akin to "white ethnic dominion." What kind of country do we want?

She ran a perfect campaign, predicated on the idea that America was civilized and not savage. This was not the *correct* call, but it was the *admirable* one. The *correct* one, unfortunately, means doing very bad things to defeat the savagery. It was up to voters to choose the better path.
