Thanks to a standing order signed by the state health officer Thursday, anyone in Washington state can get the Covid-19 vaccine without consulting their doctor.
Emily (@mildlyreal.bsky.social) reply parent
I got a message that said the covid vaccine might not be covered by insurance.

I'm still in line
Emily (@mildlyreal.bsky.social)
I'm in a virtual line for a flu/covid drive through clinic for our kids and I'm like 2000 in line and it will take an hour. While I'm annoyed, I'm sort of glad that vaccines have kpop levels of popularity in our area.

I was annoyed when my husband's pcp recommended and gave him an hpv shot last year like it was routine but mine said I didn't need it. I AM THE ONE WITH A DANG CERVIX. I went to Safeway and got it done anyway.

When people say "We used to drink raw milk from our own cow and it was fine," That's... usually not the case! In families w their own cow, the mom usually boiled it before using. We just forgot bc that's a boring chore that mom did. And who pays attention to that? youtu.be/vKDPast9WFk

Somewhat reassuring information from a Seattle based pediatric group. Gonna ask our pediatrician this week if they're still planning on doing their fall drive through vaccine clinic. Also this group always gets the song stuck in my head

Kid lit is SO FUN. It's so easy to wander the stacks of the library and find just wild story premises. A world where everyone gets wings. A girl raising chickens with super powers (the chickens not the girl). And this one which is a school of composing magic?

Our big kid is a Belle nose in a book kind of reader and has been complimented for it by TSA and a restaurant owner and I can see it becoming something she's proud of.

"mom. When you said the microwave wasn't working. Did you mean it didn't turn on or it didn't heat food" "it stayed off." Lug the damn thing back into the house and put it on the very clean counter and plug it in It works just fine The end.
Emily (@mildlyreal.bsky.social) reply parent
I drag the damn thing out to the car. Put it in the trunk. Text brother the situation. Go make coffee. Half an hour later mom looks and me and says "the outlet isn't working. The water heater is off." I reset the gfci. No go. Go out. Breaker is tripped.
Emily (@mildlyreal.bsky.social) reply parent
7:15 am. I just took the trash out. No caffeine yet. Probably fighting off early stage covid. Mom says the microwave is broken and she's going to swap it out with my brother because he told her six months ago he had one she could have and can i move the microwave to the car so she can clean

Emily (@mildlyreal.bsky.social)
Saw a mug of milk the younger kid stuck back in the fridge with some little dark chips in them, which I assumed were the oreos she was playing with earlier. Asked her if she was planning on drinking it and she said no. So I drank it The dark chips were seaweed.
