And if you want to check if a tsunami has actually been recorded in a given area of the US coast, you can check NOAA gauges. What you're looking for is a squiggle on the graph that doesn't look like either the normal tides or usual noise: tidesandcurrents.noaa.gov/stations.html
A rule of thumb for tsunamis is that in open ocean, they move at similar speeds to commercial airliners. If you're ever curious how long it would take for a tsunami to get from one place to another, look up the duration of a similar-length flight.

I’m all for renaming things but let’s pause and properly think through the practical implications of having a street name that most people can’t even begin to say properly with non-Latin characters.

Re-upping this. It’s not about fentanyl, at least not for Canada. This is about bullying a smaller neighbour into being the “51st state”. It’s the end of a longstanding friendship across countries and peoples. There will be no return to how things were after this act of aggression.
