The issue with Texas isn’t gerrymandering. Both parties gerrymander where they can. They always have. But they’ve always waited to do it at the end of each decade, with each census. The issue with Texas is they are gerrymandering MID-DECADE. Which would set a terrible precedent.
Just a few years ago, Democrats did not even field a candidate in some races forfeiting to the Republicans with out a fight. I hope this coming election they have the gumption to give every race a choice, no matter how hopeless it may seem.
