I’m sure they’ve been busy with other things to pay the bills but… it’s a sequel to a 2D platformer. And they’ve continued to crowdfund more all these years. Nothing about what they’re adding to the gameplay makes this any less confounding.
In 2010 I kickstart backed like $15 for an indie 2D platformer. The programmers already made decent hits in the web game era. It just now in 2023 has its first playable alpha build. Don’t know much about programming but for what the game is, I have no idea how this could take that long.
