Did you email your principal to let them know? I had issues one year with a Saturday class using my room. They broke stuff and wrote all over the tables, I took pics and sent them to the principal to follow up on. They moved the class after that.

Access to resources would go a long way. The fact that there is a common curriculum in Ontario but no common resources forces teachers to spend hours find and vetting and preparing them before they can ever begin teaching.

I am the fidgit queen in my school. I demonstrate how to use them properly & tell them "fidgets are for your hands, not your eyes." If your watching it instead of the lesson, it's distracting, not helping. They get 2 warnings then then I take it away. I rarely have to take them away.

On holiday visiting family in Alberta. I am blown away by the natural beauty and humbled by the age and size of the mountains. They were here before humans and will be here long after.
Look into private funding from different organizations or foundations. They could help subsidize it so you get a living wage from it but it keeps parent costs low. I've seen access to learning instruments as a game changer for some of my students.
We can't make it work anymore. After more than 15 years in spec Ed., a series of circumstances led me to change to teaching a 1/2. When I saw the list of kids needing support for next year, I was glad the change occurred. There was no way I could support that many kids and stay healthy myself

Navigating the LTC system is hard enough without making it hard to do your research to find a good home for your LO. So many hoops, bullying caseworkers, penalizing legislation and limited home care. Without the people in mysupprt group to guide us, we would be screwed.

For me the 80s was schizophrenic. I was either wearing colourful Cotton Ginny cotton drop waist dresses and big loose belts and track suits or dressed in all black tight minis and outfits from Cats Cradle. Oh and tapered green work pants with dessert boots and button down shirts.

Today was a reminder of what sometimes happens when you try something new. 16 years ago, I said yes when a friend asked me to try dragonboating. All these years later, I am still paddling with the Wild Chicks, pushing myself, getting our best times, and having a blast.
John and Lin need hand over hand support for all writing tasks. Tessa, Jamil, Ramanjit and Kenji all need scribing and 1:1 support for focusing. Jun and Rachel hit peers or self-harm when an adult is not holding their hand. One teacher is in the room. She only has two hands.

Ontario LTC program is broken. OAH workers harrass mentally & physically exhausted & guilt ridden families to take LO's home while waiting for a LTC bed that is years away if they do but months away if they keep them in hospital. Putting a LO in LTC is a wrenching decision no one takes lightly
