I’m surprised ICE impersonators aren’t already pulling home invasions. When “legitimate” ICE agents are masked and refuse to identify themselves, there’s no functional difference between legal and criminal actions. How’s anyone supposed to know if it’s really ICE?

A couple mornings ago, CNBC let Jim Cramer yammer on about reading Death by China again, and he encouraged others to read it. He said Peter Navarro is “more cogent than you might think” (regardless of “Ron Vara”). It ruined my breakfast. I switched to watching Opening Bell on Bloomberg TV.
MonkeySaysWhat (@monkeysayswhat.bsky.social)
I’m watching Christine Lagarde answer question after question with calm, cogent, complete answers. As an American, I’m not used to this kind of behavior from a woman facing the press. No smirking? Favoring data over “vibes”? Being respectful to journalist? WTH is this?

As kids, we threw that word about like confetti. They were pariahs, totally segregated at school: separate busses at separate times, no cafeteria (lunch in the classroom), no school events. Ugly consequences for all of us. Later, we did better & I thought we killed the word. I hate hearing it again.
MonkeySaysWhat (@monkeysayswhat.bsky.social) reply parent
Exactly. We just said they were awkward or weird (or the r-word). I can armchair diagnose at least half a dozen kids from my school days who were probably on the spectrum, by today’s standards, but were either diagnosed with a generic learning disability, or had no diagnosis at all.
