Developers lose source code. It happens. Especially with old games. There was no GitHub back then, no cloud storage. Stuff was saved on physical hard drives in PCs, which could fail, get lost during an office move, etc.

I assume this is due to some contractual agreement between the NFL and then-Twitter, since they used to broadcast games (and maybe still do).

I like how the different rings let you adjust battle difficulty without altering the experience in any fundamental way. They just make counterattacking easier.

This is EXACTLY what happens in 4v4 Rush mode in EA FC. It's not just this game. People want to score all the goals themselves. "...teammates attempt to dribble through whole defences and then take out shots from outrageous angles, even when I’m waiting invitingly in the box for an easy cross."
And they killed Everwild, Forza Motorsport/Turn 10, and Perfect Dark/The Initiative. So everything isn't entirely rosy either. And Avowed & South of Midnight are solid but didn't set the world on fire...if anything they continued the streak of Xbox being THE place if you want 8/10 games. 😂
They bought the biggest publisher so yes, they are the biggest publisher. But the name "Xbox Studios" is comical now. They have "Blizzard Studios" and "Bethesda Studios" and the rotting corpses of Halo, Gears, and Rare. At least they still make Forza Horizon, the last relevant true Xbox franchise.
Obviously funny math that surely doesn't include the cost of game development...not that Xbox Studios does much of that these days to begin with.

6 is accurate. It's fine. Not terrible, not great. Overall it feels like a 2-hour long Sportscenter commercial, with a ton of athlete cameos with really wooden acting, and incessant callbacks to the first film like it's a checklist. And a forced Rob Schneider cameo because he's Sandler's buddy.

They really need to get off those NBA subsidies. It makes it really difficult to determine what players are "worth" because it always comes back to league revenue, which is debateable due to the NBA always pitching in.
I just checked and I've accumulated somewhere in the neighborhood of 350 movies on the service. All bought on the cheap, when they were on sale for dirt cheap, but still, I bet that's ~$1500 USD worth of movies locked into their platform now. AND I had 31 movies on wishlist. Xbox is dead to me.
The irony is that I built a big library of movies using this service thinking, "Hey, it's MS, it's not going to go away". So much for that. And they spell out in their FAQ that you're SOL...no license transfer, nothing. At least they stay in Movies Anywhere (for the time being).

I've effectively dumped Xbox as a platform. Halo is a shell of its former self (and will likely come to PlayStation anyways), Forza Horizon is there already, GT7 is as good or better than Motorsport, PS Plus Premium is better than GamePass since it has PS1, PS2, PSP. Switch 2 as well. It's over.
I guess Microsoft Studios itself no longer knows how to create and ship a game any more.
Anybody that's ever been in Florida for any length of time knows that there's a thunderstorm at 3pm every day. This is not new. It's been that way, forever. No idea why the event planners didn't adapt to this reality.

I know switching engines isn't trivial. But building and maintaining a proprietary one is worse, and never gets better. And when developers leave, their special knowledge goes out the door and you can't hire skills off the street. Why do you think Microsoft switched Halo off of Slipstream?
And they still haven't moved off Tiger Engine (even for Marathon), which would make sense, and was the start of all this vaulting business to begin with. Instead they gotta use a proprietary engine, for what benefit? I wish they'd just build Destiny 3 on Unreal Engine for everybody's sake.
Are you forgetting that Destiny's troubles have been going on for years? It's not like they started vaulting content yesterday, or haven't been recycling content with a different enemy set every season since way, way back. They're in over their heads, and no amount of apologising fixes that fact.
So they don't have enough staff to test the game they have running, but somehow it makes sense to break off another team to spin up a second game (that they probably won't have the staffing to run effectively)? They'd better hope it turns into Fortnite, or even Apex Legends, but I doubt it.
