If you can PC is the best option, cheaper games and a larger library. You also have backwards compatibility and you're open to mods. If that's not an option I'd go with PS5, there's a lot of great PS4/PS5 exclusives and I love the PS5 controller.

New MS Flight Simulator 2024 is VERY SLOW to load! I assume Microsoft's servers are overloaded since the game just went live.
I like the new look! The old ones felt kinda generic sci-fi with the space ships but they were good illustrations.

Getting my letter answered in a gaming magazine was SPECTACULAR! (EGM and PC Gamer)
I allowed my players to start using the changes in the Handbook if they wanted to but they had to stick with that choice so we have some hybrid characters in our 6 player game. So far it hasn't been a problem at all and players like the new options. I'm running Descent into Avernus.

You should check out the Horizon games on Steam! Great games that are similar to a lot of what you listed.

IWoW is only about to turn 20, that's pretty young!
I've tried it a few times since launch and never got that into it. I'm old though so by the time WoW released I was burnt out on MMOs and never got into another one.
I dunno but "I just blued that" doesn't work.
DS9 is my favorite Trek. I love the characters and the writing. You saw both the optimism of Starfleet and the grey area they are still grappling with. The altruism is still there but there's no naivety.

LEGO Horizon Adventures (Started today!) Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered Stellar Blade Unicorn Overlord Demeo Diablo 4 Helldivers 2 I'm up for a game of Demeo any night! I wish more people played it. While it's not VR required it is built with VR in mind so the player base is smaller.

Starter Villain was a fun read.
There's a good number of games that were updated to "modern" OSes but that was like Vista/Win7 days. In some GOG game forums you'll see sticky posts about "How to run on Win 10/11" because the workaround built for Win 7 no longer works, etc. Those games need some love again.
Horizon Zero Dawn is my favorite video game story. It's a great premise and told so well! Fantastical sci-fi is made believable with great character motivations.
I just finished the Horizon Zero Dawn Remaster and I'm convinced it's the best video game story ever. They do such a great job of creating a fantastical sci-fi story and then bringing it together with believable character motivations.
