This fucking cat. He just walked into this PERFECT lighting the other day.

Long haired pale orange cat walking toward the camera with his tail raised in a friendly manner. He is dappled by sunlight coming through the shadows of leaves above him.

This poster, which was created and disseminated by abolitionist Theodore Parker, warns black people in Boston to beware of watchmen and police officers, who were legally allowed to act as kidnappers due to the Fugitive Slave Act of 1850. Text reads: Caution!! Colored people of Boston, one & all, you are hereby respectfully cautioned and advised, to avoid conversing with the watchmen and police officers of Boston, for since the recent order of the mayor & aldermen, they are empowered to act as kidnappers and slave catchers ... A distressed labubu keychain sitting on a dark wood table. K1K1 posing with her prop futuristic energy pistols. Red and blue light mixes together for top notch bisexual lighting. The labubu keychain and a glow in the dark magnet with a skeleton on it that reads, A shot of my very dark kitchen with a glowstick I forgot I had set down on my kitchen island glowing ominously in the shadows and reflected in my kitchen's mirrored backsplash.

Realizing that none of the feelings of alienation I've experienced over the years have really prepared me for future alienation or given me tools to help others navigate those moments is kind of bullshit. I am calling shenanigans on life.

The lies' laughable implausibility is a feature, not a bug. They're not trying to convince discerning, skeptical, fact-based people. They're trying to give supporters a fantasy that validates their feelings and creates a sort of loyalty test, while flaunting the absurdity in everyone else's faces.

If there *actually are* “mind viruses” then LinkedIn must be one

Linkedin screen cap Hamsavi Krishnan in • 3rd+ • 3rd+ + Follow Business Analyst | Experian | Ex-... 8h • Edited • .. • + Taylor Swift said yes to Travis. Proof that even the world's biggest superstar can be successfully recruited. It only took: 1. The right sourcing strategy (bracelets > cold emails) 2. A strong employer brand (Super Bowl rings help...) 3. Persistence (he didn't land it on the first try!) If Travis can land Taylor, I'm feeling inspired that I can land the right role in analytics. So if you're hiring for data-driven problem solvers who love turning numbers into stories → my inbox is wide open. #Analytics #DataAnalytics #BusinessAnalytics

Old Soviet joke for today: A man walks into a newsstand every day, looks around, and leaves. After a long time of this, the owner says “Can I help you find something?” “I’m looking for the obituaries.” “The obituaries are in the back of the newspaper, comrade.” “Not the one I’m looking for.”

your day at a glance: Take turns spiraling, so that you can be there for each other. Your partner's emotional meltdown isn't your engineering problem to solve. Stop trying to fix them and start taking turns being the one who falls apart. Real intimacy requires both people to be human.
