My mom ate grapefruit every morning. I don’t know if it was a fad diet but it certainly was disguting.
So I wrote the ER doc a thank you letter and send it. He made a difference and if anyone else had bothered to pay fucking attention, maybe k would have been admitted a bunch of times over three years. I’m angry big time bc so irresponsible with peoples lives
So in three years, no one thought that maybe the oxide (that doesn’t absorb and just makes you run to the bathroom)was a PROBLEM. No one thought that perhaps I WASNT drinking G too much (I actually had a nurse ask me when the last drink I had was and show her my hands to see if I was shaking)
Switched to glycinate and what do you know. Stomach settled, levels came back to normal, no muscle cramping, I’m sleeping again and not everything in my body fucking HURTS. I’m grateful…but I’m also absolutely fucking furious.
He got my levels up, listened to everything I’d been through and offered one major tweek. 1.) have the leveled checked thin a few days bc I would crash again and 2) switch to magnesium glycinate. I crashed but not as bad as I usually do.
5 days later I knew I was in trouble again so I drove an HOUR to the next nearest military base. Doc wanted to admit me (I was at .8…again heart stopping). Begged not to admit me bc I had a gastro appointment that I’d been waiting for for this exact reason.
So last two weeks ago I was admitted with a level of .7 (that can stop your heart). They got my levels up and the DOC told me to NOT take magnesium oxide anymore and everything would normalize. (Sounded wonky but I listened).
Pissed. So I’ve been hospitalized I can’t tell you HOW many times bc of low magnesium after being cured of c diff. Docs put me on mag oxide and I was always always sick. Running to the bathroom. Levels always hitting emergency levels. Been doing this for THREE years.
So..years of sick and humiliation at ER. Whoops. Wrong magnesium
So the doc I saw the other day said I have to switch magnesium and I have been FINE since.
So I got a microbiome transplant. After a year of being super sick, I was on the mend but always crashing on magnesium. So in ten days I crashed and was admitted once and they wanted to admit me the second time. Couldn’t. I had a gastro appointment at 730 am the next day

Was just at a military hospital today…so many people coming in requesting covid tests and were told to a) go get one at cvs and b) take Tylenol and Motrin. They werent even entertaining the thought of seeing anyone with covid - just sent them right back out the front door.
Hungover and needed breakfast. Ordered poached eggs, toast, potatoes. They scooped the eggs out of the water and just slapped it on a plate (still wet). Server put it down and the eggs slid across the plate…never ran for a bathroom so fast. 🤮

Well this blows. I knew my magnesium was low but I was at .7 which is the lowest I’ve ever been. Was admitted and will keep getting electrolytes u til tomorrow.

I am low mag ally (like emergency levels). It’s a feeling of disconnection and being completely out of it. Nausea, no appetite. Absolute medical emergency. Any time I’m low and go to the er, I’m bumped to the front of the line

I’m pretty frugal - grow my own veggies, make my own baked goods and cookies etc. The basic essentials are crazy expensive right now. I am fortunate enough that I can take the hit (kinda) but I REFUSE to pay what they are asking. Fuck that. Anyone need tomatoes?
