Great investigation into a network of ~26 pay-for-play sites posing as established media outlets. The publications, with names like “New York Mirror“ and “Berliner Zeitung“ are part of the GNN Group, which purportedly sells bundles articles on its “reviv[ed] iconic brands” for up to 45,000 euros.

Apparently operating a network of non-existent media outlets and filling it with AI generated content is not an issue for Meta. The company didn't want to publicly comment on these pages and hasn't taken any action against them so far.
The network includes profiles on Facebook and Instagram, some with almost a million followers and some featuring supposed news programs with AI avatars as presenters.
I found at least 26 fictitious media outlets where anyone can publish articles in exchange for money.
