Linehan’s court case making it very clear indeed exactly how wacky this stuff always was, and that people like him have always been about incoherent hatred. e.g. the Harry Potter lady and those ex-Guardian colonists aren’t more reasonable than this: they are *more careful about public perception*.
From Nige to Linehan there's an obvious yearning to cultivate an ingroup that gets to abuse minorities and systems and grin and cheer and make sadface in the papers when they meet any amount of friction at all. These people won't back down from arguments, they need to be stopped.

Helen, mate, Linehan has a well documented history of attacking trans people. He’s currently on trial for physical assault of a teenager. Meanwhile scores of people have been arrested for protesting a genocide yet you pitched and wrote an article defending Linehan’s speech.
My minority opinion is that a man in his late 50s shouldn't be physically assaulting a 17 year old kid, while bellowing his fantasies at them about porn, sadism, terrorism and grooming.
