This used to be taught in law schools: that courts have no enforcement power, and rely entirely on trust, which must therefore NOT be squandered. As a law school faculty brat, it was in the air I breathed, and I wasn't even in law school! How the Reps on SCOTUS came to forget it is a mystery.
