Credit is due to several dogged Tower Grove East residents who tirelessly went after the owners to get them to renovate the building instead of sitting on it, which is what they had been doing for a long time.
I am very familiar with the Chesterfield area due to family living out there. I don't see any reason why this development is not going to be hugely successful. Two of the wealthiest zip codes in the region wrap around the site. Chesterfield Mall failed for other more complex reasons.
The decision to make the switch is made easier when my Twitter feed is inundated with StL-Today obituaries.
The architecture of the house in the movie is totally wrong compared to the house in real life--which btw has been torn down.
