This is one of those things a lot of people don't realize: Batteries don't have to be made of electrochemical reactants! This one is literally just hot sand, but there are also kinetic batteries, including spinning weights attached to a turbine or falling water that gets pumped back up at night.

I agree with you, but hooooo boy, you probably just opened a can of worms. Most Americans want better/universal healthcare, but the healthcare industry is for-profit and they use their billions to convince the gullible that that's communism, which we've all been raised to believe is bad, m'kay?

Side note about the Nebulon-B: I liked it but I've always felt the design was kinda silly for a warship. It's a stack of cylinders & stretched pill shapes connected to engines by a pipe that screams "weak point," you know? I wonder what the ILM guys were thinking when they threw it together.

0 - Cloud Car! I remember liking it a lot as a kid. I think it was due to it being bright orange (compared to all the gray ships up til that point) & its unique shape. The Cloud Car was colorful, organic-looking, fast, and sounded like a race car. Perfect imagination fuel for a kid my age.

Yam Tits finally makes an official appearance in the former Jabba's palace in The Book of Boba Fett. He never speaks and isn't listed in the credits, but he nods to Fett and gets a nod on return. The internet erupts in joy, and can finally rest. Yam Tits is, at long last, Star Wars canon.

Over the years, YT appears as an Easter Egg in various video games, cartoons, & other media. Tartakovsky's Clone Wars sneaks him into a cantina scene. Lucas tries to ban him, but fans won't have it. He becomes a short-lived meme. Weezer chooses not to include him in their Pork & Beans video.
John (@neopifex.bsky.social) reply parent
...the RotJ special edition, which causes a fan backlash & has a Streisand Effect, making Yam Tits more widely known. Decipher's Star Wars CCG makes an ultra rare card of him, but is forced to ban it from tournament play. People campaign to see him in the Prequels, but to no avail.
John (@neopifex.bsky.social) reply parent
I could absolutely see some wiseass at Lucasfilm in 1982 name something Yam Tits, then in 1986 it's briefly mentioned in Bantha Tracks or some other fan mag and becomes one of those bits of knowledge only a "true fan" would know. In 1997 they edit out the three frames of film it appears in for...
