The whole 'debate me' act is bullshit, from Charlie Kirk or any other right winger. It's theater to platform hate and give them an audience. The humanity and right to live their lives in peace of our fellow Americans - LGBTQ folks, people of color, women - ARE NOT LEGITIMATE GROUNDS FOR 'DEBATE'.
The argument that 2A is applicable today - in its original text - as it was 250 years ago is willful ignorance. Charlie fucking Kirk would possibly be alive if guns were more difficult to get. So would a LOT of children. It's the guns.

The writers of the 2A did not anticipate scopes, rifling, cartridges, gas-operation, semi- or fully-automatic actions. A proficient marksman with a musket could get off a SINGLE round every 20 seconds or so. Today, a CHILD can fire almost 10 rounds EVERY SECOND.
The writers of the 2A could not fathom a citizen climbing to a roof and killing their intended target with one round from 200 yards away. Adjustable trigger pulls didn't exist. They weren't thinking that guns would become as prevalent as they are now.
The musket was the most advanced weapon of the time. It shot a ball of lead - inaccurately - a little further than a football field. That's why they all lined up and shot volleys - so maybe a percentage of the shots would hit their targets.
Our Founding Fathers were men of vision in a time when thinking far into the future was extremely difficult. That's why the Constitution was designed with the inherent ability to be changed to keep up with the times.
While the framers certainly wanted the populace to be able to defend themselves against the possibility that their still-developing government would attempt to subjugate them by force, the frothers seem to de-emphasize the first 4 words of the 2A.
The people who wrote the 2A had no understanding of "400,000,000" as a possible number of guns that would be in the hands of the citizenry. When the 2A was written, the notional "tyrannical government" had the same guns carried by the populace.
The people who wrote the Second Amendment did not understand the term "cyclic rate." They had no concept of ".223," ".50," "7.62," "5.57," "high-capacity magazine," (or the word "magazine" in the first place).

I've seen no reports of any troops initially refusing the deployment order, and once they're on the ground in their assigned AOR, it becomes a great deal more difficult for them to abandon those who DON'T have an issue being there.
The numbers of people who would have to make the actual call that one of these orders is unlawful becomes geometrically smaller as you go up the chain, so punting it up that chain dramatically reduces the likelihood of that call being made.
Those higher on the chain are the political appointees or soon-to-be GOs. They're not going to rock the boat. I know that's cynical and I truly hope I'm wrong. I was on eggshells every day when I hit my 18 year mark. The repercussions of losing a planned-for retirement are truly severe.
The non-coms and high "Es" will be looking for someone above them to label an order unlawful. Those individuals will question themselves and are in a position to lose the most, as their retirements could be in jeopardy. THEY in turn will look to the ones higher on the chain.
While I understand that U.S. troops may be aware, you will be hard pressed to find ANYONE in a position of authority over those troops who would be willing to define an order from CINC as unlawful. The rank and file don't have the self-confidence to make that decision on their own.

Not sure I'm with you on this one. While I maybe get your point, I think - in general, of course - those who are able to "get through" both HS and college develop at least a rudimentary understanding of societal norms and would NOT choose to subvert those norms on the streets of this nation.
