So the techy people assume the only way to actually solve stuff is conservative jackboots since the apparent left answers to the problems aren't working. Despite the real problem being due to nimby do nothingism.

Unironically the failings of the Californian/bay area governments to get a handle on housing prices and their downstream effects has turned a lot of techy folks into skull crackers because the vibes are bad and the bay area governments prefer virtue signaling to actually doing anything.

This is why I'm always so pessimistic about security professionals assumptions about what systems work. The entropic mediocrity will hit everything, so security always end up so onerous while only partially working. Just like you guys deal with dumb users that can never secure anything.

Kelce's career is a bit wierd because he's a top 10/5 all time tight end, but he's been in partly the shadow of Gronk who was probably the abject peak of Tight End play on a purely transcendent level. Its been only in the past 3 years that Kelce has created a resume to match Gronks.

This causes the historian in me to be rather conflicted. On the one hand you can always just do the right thing. And yet we are all victims to the context that came before us. Up until oct 7th all of that context created a situation where just doing the right thing was very hard to do.

Living at that metro stop has to be considered a cognitohazard because it gets you into train watching. Have you seen all the wack MARC livery yet?

I've been looking at voice models for narrating stuff that isn't popular enough to get adoptions. How good are the voice models at making longform stuff listenable.

I've seen the future, this is going to result in Obama winning a third term in 2028. Thus making tan suits and Dijon mustard mandatory nationwide.

Its not great that people will always hate a coverup more than the actual crime just because it triggers the lizard brain part of the emotion center.

Pam Bondi giving dems the "but what about her emails" moment that they'll ride into recapturing the dipshit voting block will go down as the one of the funniest unforced errors of all time.

Its fucked how big an advantage it is to fall into the "default" categories of human existence. I don't have to justify shit. Otherwise, you need to justify everything for your story. So we end up with people sounding like stock-samurai in a shittu ninja movie from the 80s.

A genuine gag order on the media talking about immigration and banning it from social media would make it vanish as an issue from the mind of the voter.

Unironically just getting to propagandize staffers into making their bosses not be such pansies is as righteous a way to spend money as any. Plus it'll drive the conspiracy nuts absolutely feral

Hyper-efficent financial instruments have mostly effected a massive shedding of wage labor inefficiencies all the while increasing the value of already having capital a ton. Combined with life expectancy increases and care costs means inheritance gets burned fast. Few nest eggs are getting inherited

Probably the small pox vaccine, potatoes, optical telegraphs, 17th century ship construction techniques/design, blast furnaces/principles behind precision machinery, really any of these would have a huge impact though I think the ship building would be the most impactful

It truly is a miracle the ntsb and other safety orgs in this country have been able to maintain a focus on systemic flaws instead of always looking for scapegoats. Just screaming for heads to roll doesn't work when it comes to ensuring safety.

I think we'll only see a meaningful shift if ukr can get an overmatch of organic tactical fires and of rear echelon fires. Being able to constrain these small squad attacks is by choking them at their jumpoff points and increasing local capabilities to shatter them at the squad level so motars/air

Our problem with the internet of now is that we have learned good portion, if not all to some extent, people are incapable of filtering hostile information. And until "true ai" curation services exist, I'm not sure of a way to allow the current low barriers to information transfer that isnt toxic
