My quick Google for per capita stats couldn't find anything more recent than 2023 for Shreveport, but in 2023 it had a slightly higher rate than DC. Not that Johnson would care about that, or about anything that impacts his constituents.

Last week Abita had hop water and a pretty good NA beer. The beer was new. It was a lighter beer. I enjoyed it.

My kid decided to evacuate Saturday. They drove to us in BR with roommate, foster dog, and gecko. Arrived around 3am Sunday. Stayed about 2 weeks.
I was in BR. I remember seeing him on the news when he came in. A few years ago, my husband was in line to early vote behind the general. He asked to shake his hand and thanked him for all he's done for Louisiana.
We want to go up to Chicago. I'm also plotting a day trip to Bay St. Louis for my husband's birthday.

My husband biked uptown the other day and was saying how nice Baronne was.
I was surprised there wasn't anything about Danziger. Obviously he couldn't cover everything. Some of it may have been a matter of who he was able to interview, how those interviews turned out, etc.
I don’t remember any talk about the NOPD looting. Definitely he talked about how the "looting" was people trying to survive. The 4th episode went into shootings by random citizens and cops. Talked to Henry Glover's family. And clips of random people bragging about shooting people.
I worked for LASERS for several years. Same thing could happen occasionally with retirement benefits. And this reminds me that updating my address with LASERS doesn't seem to have trickled down to OGB as I thought it would, because OGB just sent mail to my old address.
We took advantage of Museum Month freebies today. Started at Jamnola which was touristy, as expected. I thought it was well done and the average tourist might learn a thing or two. Then the urban enslavement tour at Hermann-Grima House. Been wanting to do this. Definitely recommend.

A friend of mine from college and her just became permanent residents of Pamama. Apparently they are planning to retire there.
On a related note, the museum month page, also on New Orleans dot com, requires too many clicks to find out basic shit like "Is this participating museum open today?"
Coffee. When i was working my start time was either 7 ir 7:30. Because Baton Rouge afternoon traffic is the worst, so I wanted to get out earlier. I loved those WFH days with extra sleep time.
I didn't either! 😂 I was just telling my husband about this and I said if we ever come into that kind of money, I'm not doing laundry or mopping. He said, "You don't mop now." 😂
Absolutely. I wouldn't be cooking every day for kids if I had that kind of money.
I would cook now and then because I like it. Probably take a bunch of bougie cooking classes.
Thankfully, the ride home was better. And Dirty Linen was fun. We ran into a couple of people we knew at one of the galleries. Then more people at Cosimo's on the way home.
An astonishing number of people in Baton Rouge believe that. Probably because they came to Bourbon in college and never learned there was anything else.
Not surprising, but ugh. I'm hoping to get to Pensacola next month. Will be similar, I'm sure.
