Even the E3 effort wasnât about normalizing the status of the undocumented-that was about securing more visas in the future. Irish advocates had been working on comprehensive immigration reform, alongside activists of other nationalities. All efforts in that have failed for decades now, obviously.
I donât think thereâs really anything like that going on now? There have been efforts in the past (see the Donnelly and Morrison visas), but they gave up on the E3 visa idea and politicians and activists are well aware of the overall situation, and that itâs futile, on top of the obvious unfairness.
