The more I see of Aetherdrift, the more I dislike the set. I'm always hyped for new Magic cards, but the cringe level is too high for my tastes. Oddly, it makes me more hyped for Universes Beyond sets with no Loot and a setting that will be treated seriously and with care.

Final Fantasy. I’ll be excited for Magic IP sets next year when we should start to see the set design reflect the feedback they got about MKM. I’m skipping Aetherdrift altogether with the HA WAIT DID YOU GET IT cranked up 1000% in everything along with the worst set logo of all time.

So the story behind this card is that the beta for Gold and Silver there was meant to be an Imposter of Oak. I believe the sprites for it were found in the leaked Beta of the games. So the card was clearly made while the game development was still in the early days.

I found the UBR Mishra Precon from Brother’s War is the most complex because of all the copy/sacrifice/trick/reanimate abilities in the deck. WU First Flight from the Starter Commander set was my first EDH deck and I still think the easiest one to play
