I think these takes are hilarious because do they think every person in the metro was born there???? Like, many, many of us grew up in rural MN and thatâs why I *know* that if you hunt you need a shotgun, if you are an ego driven piece of crap you buy murder guns and feel special about it

I think flooding the state level is smart, but now I know that my local gets no funds and I have to concentrate the little Iâm able to give there. Obviously the ideal would be a state DFL that could be trusted to portion out funds where most needed and most impact. But thatâs not where weâre at.
I know that extremely online Mpls politics folks are sickos (complimentary) but I feel like people whoâs politics is solely national are the real weirdos. Like why would I listen to your analysis on whatâs happening across the country or the world when you donât care what happens outside your door?

None of these damn articles include the fact that the convention attendees were told there were tabulation issues and **voted to keep the first ballot anyway**. The *majority* of delegates decided to move forward, and the *majority* of delegates voted to endorse Fateh.
I also havenât heard back on my effort, which is critical of lack of fact checking our politicians đ as you said there are plenty of alternate explanations for why mine hasnât been selected but alsoâŠ.
I can see why we wouldnât want the equivalent of spam ballots, but at the same time, a person who canât afford $5 a month to join the DFL is actually a person we really need to hear from.
You know, I didnât know until this caucus season that *zero* percent of what is given to the state DFL gets distributed to any local chapters to help with, you know, democracy. Why the *hell* would anyone from Mpls give to the state party ever again. Mpls DFL only.
Why the dues part? Wouldnât that exclude more of the working people we want to involve more?
This was done purposely to delegitimize volunteers that put everything into creating a safe and fair convention after the state DFL party ignored their pleas for assistance. Every campaign was involved at every step of the process. Disgusting tactics from Team Frey.

Also for what itâs worth a primary system probably wouldnât have fixed this particular time, because a significant part of the problem was the state DFL offering zero assistance with staffing or funding, and the Mpls DFL having to deal with record numbers (good!) without help
So while certainly not a perfect snapshot of every DFL voter, it it was still done proportionately at the granular precinct level. Also the convention allows is to pass resolutions, which is a big deal. We passed one to protect herons from lasers and a BDS one.
But the upside is that subcaucuses can also be formed around issues, for instance very popular issue subcaucus was transit / eco. Probably the most popular subcaucus was âanyone but Freyâ because at that point there were still a lot of people undecided between Fateh, Davis, and Hampton.
Well, that is partially what happened. At precinct caucuses, subcaucuses are formed, and get a proportional amount of delegates to send to the city convention. It does mean not all DFLers participate, since not everyone goes to precinct caucuses. That is definitely a downside.
Also lol at even bringing up the national party. This is the DFL. And it doesnât win without Minneapolis.
Suuuure Freyâs PAC is âcommon folkâ of Minneapolis⊠overwhelmingly wealthy developers located outside the city, with many documented Republican donors. Literally with circulating recordings of how they told the DFL they would withhold large donations of the endorsement wasnât overturned.
Guess we have some calls to make tomorrow!

Did you look at the numbers?Because essentially, the first erroneous ballot managed to be a sample with almost identical percentages. So instead of saying âfix the process, but *even if those votes had been included* the results would be the sameâ they literally told ALL OF US our votes DONT count
Those 180 votes would not have changed the results for Frey. Nor would they have resulted in a final result for Davis that was any different. Like. The math is right there. Also Davis and his campaign made their stance clear and it was to let the endorsement and the will of the delegates stay.
So, congrats âcentristsâ! You gleefully teamed up with actual Republicans to upend the decision of actual Mpls DFLers. And itâs going to hurt yâall a hell of a lot more than itâs going to hurt Fatehâs campaign.
Dr Davis is my top candidate, and he and his delegates didnât ask for this. The PAC All of Minneapolis, funded by actual Republican donators and out state developers, dedicated to keeping Frey in place, asked for it. Bragged about working for it. Threatened to withhold funding without this decision
Having read the committeeâs drafted decision (as a layperson), this seems accurate. Give zero help for caucuses, ward conventions, a last minute change to a city convention DUE TO ASSASSINATION. Then put us on probation and vacate an endorsement that they admit would not have materially changed.
It blows my mind that people and orgs supporting Jacob would spend their time and energy reminding everyone that he's a loser, no one likes him, and he only gets elected because people with money stack the deck in his favor. Seems like that would just make people more motivated to vote him out.
