Kimmel made jokes, which were poignant and intelligent, in his monologue, on his comedy variety show, and got suspended. Brian Kilmeade seriously advocated for giving lethal injections to homeless people, on a news show, and he's going to work, business as usual.
Kimmel didn’t even really say anything negative about Kirk. He noted the cynical and almost giddy exploitation of the killing by right-wing propagandists, absolutely accurately, and in gentler terms than I would have used.
Jimmy Kimmel has a LOT of powerful Hollywood friends and is very well liked in the industry. Here's a test for all of them. Will they stand up for Jimmy and finally speak out against Trump and MAGA's fascist march? Or will they both sides it? Lets see.

I know several people who have covered right-wing folks and white nationalists for years. I cannot emphasize enough how dangerous and hard the work is, how much of a toll it can take on their mental health, and how newsrooms undervalue it even when that expertise is clearly relevant and needed.
