honestly, this was kind of the secret sauce to some of the big "advertainment" toons of the early/mid 80s. TF and Joe in particular had writers who were suddenly freed from the vicious restrictions of 70s networks/H-B and took the chance to write a bit more seriously still plenty of crap, but....
