She's been camping since Friday morning & didn't bring her Navage meaning she was likely infected Wed-Thursday & it took the weekend to proliferate. She did use it last night when her nose began to get stuffy. She's going to be using it 2x daily until she's clear. At least there's that.

Steph (@observingangel.bsky.social) reply parent
A lot of people took what the CDC & other health institutions had to say about COVID being something that you could catch at only 3 ft or 6 ft bc it "spread by droplets". That was proven to be untrue. COVID is, in fact, airborne. Think "Outbreak" instead. youtu.be/Wy-w1-g7OvY?...

5. Removing their mask in a public restroom because "nobody else was in there". Bad news--airborne means that virus will linger in the air for a while & public restrooms often aren't well ventilated. They're small, cramped & damp--environments that allow an airborne virus to linger in the air.
Steph (@observingangel.bsky.social) reply parent
4. Removing their mask in crowded public spaces to talk to someone or eat. Believe it or not, talking and eating do not offer any protective effect against getting infected by an airborne virus. Even removing it briefly can just capture virus w/in the mask when you put it back on. Leave it on.
Steph (@observingangel.bsky.social) reply parent
3. Wearing cloth masks. I've seen this on occasion still & it's mind boggling. A cloth mask is not going to have the features or fit of a KN95 or N95 mask. It's not even equivalent. If you like your pretty cloth mask, wear it over a N95 or KN95. Don't use it solely.
Steph (@observingangel.bsky.social) reply parent
2. Wearing it under their nose. I still see a young man masking w that mask inexplicably under his nose. Does he think that COVID just hurts the lungs? Maybe but leaving the nose open to infection means that you'll just be inhaling virus into your lungs internally. This doesn't protect you.
Steph (@observingangel.bsky.social)
Correct. Things that I saw people doing that likely led to infection during my state's mandate: 1. Wearing an ill-fitting mask w loads of gaps. Some hung on the tips of their noses with wide gaps at the top. Others popping open on the side. Wearing something like that gets you infected.
